The aftermath of the fatal accident along the FAC Matang Expressway.
KUCHING: An elderly man was killed after the motorcycle he was riding on rear-ended a car along the FAC Matang Expressway today.
State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the deceased identified as Junaidi Sulong, 73, from Kampung Sri Kandung, Jalan Taman Negara Kubah.
In the 1.15pm incident, the victim was heading towards Telaga Air, when the motorcycle he was riding on rear-ended a stationary car parked by the side of the road.
Junaidi was pronounced dead by paramedics summoned to the scene due to severe head injuries.
The body was brought to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for further action.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
