KUCHING: Regas Premium Auto unveiled the first BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo at its showroom yesterday.
It sets the new benchmark for unrivalled space, comfort, and functionality in luxury class vehicles.
BMW 630i GT is the only vehicle in the segment which offers the spaciousness of a modern Gran Turismo, travel comfort of a luxury class sedan with aesthetic appeal befitting a large classy coupe.
“Those who wants to view the car may visit our showroom this weekend,” said Regas Premium Auto head of sales Josephine Tay.
She added that the launch will be held today from 9am to 5pm and the showroom is also open from 10am to 2pm tomorrow (Sunday).
In a press statement, BMW Group Malaysia managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) Harald Hoelzl said the BMW 6 Series GT adds another dimension and offering to their modern luxury product portfolio.
“This distinctive new vehicle offers impressive functionality with new award-winning body format, high standards of driving comfort with spaciousness,” said Hoelzl in the statement.
The interior offers generous space with raised seating position for excellent view. Three full-fledged seats at the rear has ample legroom with raised headroom in spite of a lower roof line.
BMW 6 Series GT is equipped with adaptive suspension with dynamic damper control and air suspension for both axles. The electronically controlled dampers increase comfort and enhance the vehicle’s handling, along with wheel-specific control that counterbalances uneven loads.
Under the bonnet, the cutting-edge Twin Power Turbo engine is teamed up with the eight-speed Steptronic transmission.
The 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol unit delivers a maximum output of 190 kW/258 hp and peak torque of 400 Nm.
The increase in power and the superior efficiency of the new engine, together with aerodynamic improvements, endows the car with a top speed of 250km/h while optimising fuel economy.
It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds, and posts combined fuel consumption of 6.6 litres per 100 kilometres and CO2 emissions of 152 grams per kilometre.
The vehicle is also designed to provide a driver-focused cockpit, with impeccable ergonomic arrangement of the controls and display. The control system offers unparalleled versatility for operating vehicle, navigation, communication and infotainment functions.
The extremely spacious passenger compartment comes with optimised noise insulation as well as a two-part Panoramic glass roof.
BMW 6 Series GT offers exterior colour selections of alpine white, bluestone, carbon black and sophisto grey with leather interior in dakota black.
Leather dakota cognac is an added interior option specifically for exterior colours carbon black and sophisto grey.
