MP gives RM61,000 MRP funds to 25 organisations

MIRI: Miri MP Dr Michael Teo presented funds to 25 associations, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and bodies amounting to RM61,000 from Pakatan Harapan (PH) government yesterday.

According to Dr Teo, Miri MP Service Centre received a total of 56 applications for funds to run activities and programmes.

“To date, all the applications have been approved by the Implementation Coordination unit (ICU) of Prime Minister’s Department. The total sum approved was RM180,000.

“This is the first time the PH government is distributing funds to associations, welfare groups, religious bodies, parent-teacher associations and sports club to organise activities as a holistic approach to enhance community living,” said Dr Teo.

The first 25 received their funds yesterday, while the rest will be receive theirs once the funds are ready.

“Once again PH government would like to reiterate our commitment of ensuring an equitable, prosperous and just society,” he added.
