Members of PPTD Sarawak contingent celebrate their victory at the PPTD Sports Championship Borneo Sarawak 2018.
KUCHING: The just-concluded Malaysia Governance and Diplomatic Association (PPTD) Sports Championship Borneo Sarawak 2018 gathered 120 diplomatic governance personnel (PTDs) of different grades and departments serving in Sarawak and Sabah.
Public Service Department (JPA) director-general Datuk Borhan Dolah officiated at the opening ceremony, witnessed by Ministry of Rural Development secretary-general Datuk Dr Ahmad Jailani Muhamed Yunus, who is also PPTD president.
The PPTD Sarawak contingent was led by Sarawak Federal Secretary Datuk Mansor Man – also PPTD Sarawak president, while PPTD Sabah contingent was led by Sabah Federal Secretary Datuk Nor Rizan Mohd Thani.
Five categories of sports were contested in the games – badminton, which was held at Sarawak Intan Badminton Hall; golf at Damai Golf & Country Club; netball at Sarawak Intan Netball Ring; football at Sarawak Stadium; and bowling at Megalanes Adventure World-King’s Centre.
PPTD Sarawak was declared the overall champions by winning the badminton, bowling and netball categories, while PPTD Sabah triumphed in the golf and football categories.
Mansor officiated at the closing ceremony at Grand Magherita Hotel here, where Sabah National Registration Department director Dato’ Ismail Ahmad, who is also PPTD Sabah deputy president, was present.
It is learnt that the next year’s edition of PPTD Sports Championship Borneo would be hosted by PPTD Sabah.
