Young entrepreneurs brief Head of State on business startups

KUCHING: A group of young entrepreneurs yesterday paid a courtesy call on Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Pehin Sri Taib Mahmud at Astana Negri, to brief him on progress made in Sarawak’s business startups scene.

The group was led by iCube Innovations Sdn Bhd chairman Dato Patrick Liew, accompanied by operation manager Melvin Liew.

iCube Innovations, which supports the entrepreneur and startup ecosystem, is also reputedly Sarawak’s largest and most connected co-working space and innovation hub.

The briefing was to showcase the progress and development of Sarawakian entrepreneurs in various sectors such as development of mobile apps and social enterprises.

These included the success in developing Xense which is a Virtual Reality/ Augmented Reality solutions, GetFood (food app), Penan Women Project (Social Enterprise/Handicraft), Miao & Wafu Pafu (Creative/Local Publication), Aquavermiponic (Food Waste Management & Worms Farming), construction and mobile app development, and SHiNE Pharmacy (Healthcare & Wellness).

iCube Innovations, located at Icom Square here, was declared open by Taib on August 10 three years ago.
