MIRI: A teenager was sentenced to three months’ jail by a magstrates’ court yesterday for theatening his own father.
Magistrate Zuraini Ali Musa passed the sentence after considering several factors including the teenager’s guilty plea and appeal, facts of case, seriousness of the offence, and his social report provided by the Welfare Department.
Kong Kee How, 19, from Desa Murni, Permyjaya here, was charged under Section 506 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to two years or a fine or both upon conviction.
Based on facts of case, Kong intimidated his father Kong Foh Seng, 40, by threathening to beat him, with an intention to instill fear in him.
He committed the offence at their house in Desa Murni, Permyjaya here at 8pm on Aug 30.
