Police carrying the victim’s body to a waiting police truck at a construction site in Penampang.
PENAMPANG: An unidentified body of a man was found inside a 20 feet manhole at a construction site here early this afternoon.
District police chief DSP Haris Ibrahim said no identification was found on the victim when his body was discovered around noon on October 16.
“We are still investigating the cause of death,” he said, adding that police are also investigating if the victim is a construction worker at the site.
Haris said initial police investigation believed the victim may had fall into the manhole.
A team of Fire and Rescue personnel from Penampang was also call to assist in lifting the victim out from the 20 feet manhole.
The body was then taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a post-mortem.
