MED lauds the role, contribution of entrepreneurs in Malaysia’s economic growth

KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development (MED) lauded the role and contribution of entrepreneurs in in bridging markets and drawing economies closer to strengthen Malaysia’s position and competitiveness in the global marketplace.

“The economic prosperity that we enjoy today is a byproduct of the hard work, perseverance and dedication of our entrepreneurs. These are courageous men and women, committed to their cause, and dedicated to their dreams. They are those who dare to see an opportunity, when others see a problem,” said MED’s Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan in a press statement in conjunction with the announcement of EY’s Top Nominees for this year’s EY Entrepreneur Of The Year (EOY) Malaysia Awards.

The announcement was held via a cocktail ceremony and co-hosted with Credit Suisse AG.

“The MED applauds the role and contribution of our entrepreneurs in bridging markets and drawing economies closer. This will strengthen and secure Malaysia’s position and competitiveness in the global marketplace.

“MED certainly looks forward to working with EY in strengthening Malaysia’s entrepreneurial landscape and showcasing our finest accomplishments to the rest of the world,” Mohd Redzuan added.

The 15 Top Nominees in the Emerging, Technology, Woman and Master categories were determined by an independent panel of judges guided by a set of judging criteria that is consistently applied globally by the EOY programme.

Winners of the four category awards as well as the coveted EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2018 Malaysia award will be announced and celebrated at a gala event in December 2018. The Malaysian EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2018 will then join country award recipients from around the globe in Monte Carlo in June 2019 to compete for the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year (WEOY) 2019 award.
