KUCHING: Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) welcomes the Auditor General Chambers to examine and audit the details of the Darul Hana Musical Fountain project.
DBKU also clarified that the project fully complied with all the financial and technical process and procedures.
The details of the design have been deliberated by the technical and cost committee and also by professional consultants, DBKU said in a press statement.
“The project is managed and monitored by DBKU and it was based on design and built initiative using modern technology and system.
“The extent of the project includes cascading water features, piling works, landscaping, control room with computerised systems, electrical substation, waterfront walkway, sound and lighting system, and the state of the art fountain system.”
“This includes the floating pontoon system that provides the supporting arm, filter screen, fountain nozzle and navigational lights.”
This Darul Hana Musical Fountain project is a specialised project and marks another modern iconic landmark for the state, DBKU explained.
“The project would attract both domestic and foreign tourists to Kuching, being a gateway to Sarawak, and thus providing a spin off to the community and businesses, especially the small businesses.”
DBKU issued the clarification in response to media reports on Batu Lintang assemblyman See Chee How questioning the high cost of Darul Hana Musical Fountain on Wednesday and a subsequent report on the Auditor General scrutinising the project yesterday.
