SIBU: More than one hundred staff members of the KTS Group and two of its subsidiaries See Hua and Food Land Sdn Bhd took part in its annual Sports Carnival at Stadium Tun Zaidi here yesterday.
The chairman of KTS Group of Companies, Lau Swee Nguong; president of KTS Club, Peter Lau; chairman of KTS Club, Benny Lau and senior executive of KTS Trading Sdn Bhd, Kevin Lau were among those present.
The deputy managing director of KTS Group of Companies, Temenggong Dato Vincent Lau Lee Ming in his speech at the opening ceremony said sports and exercise are essential in a healthy lifestyle.
Competitive sports teach us to accept defeat and celebrate victory, which are lessons that help lead a successful life, he said.
“Sports create a challenging environment and once we have that strength to challenge any obstacles we become daring, adventurous and capable to face challenges in life,” he said.
Lau added that the KTS Sports Carnival is an annual event that shows the group’s commitment to the well-being of their staff.
“Through the KTS Sports Carnival all the staff members of KTS in Sibu are given an opportunity to build rapport and relationship across departments and companies.
“Apart from that, we have the opportunities to meet more of our colleagues in other departments or companies through practising together and competing in the activities,” he added.
