PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested 23 individuals and in the process of prosecuting 11 individuals for various offences under the MACC Act 2009 which involved land encroachment and illegal farming in the Cameron Highlands since 2015.

Its deputy chief commissioner (Operation) Datuk Seri Azam Baki said the commission viewed seriously a report by a newspaper on  the revival of illegal farms that had been demolished by the authorities in the Cameron Highlands.

“The revival of illegal farms should not happen and MACC views the matter seriously if it involves corruption or power abuse,” he said in a statement.

He hoped immediate action would be taken by the relevant authorities on the highlands  and urged the public with information on the matter to report to the MACC office nearest to them.
