MIRI: The Sarawak government will take over the perimeter survey of Native Customary Rights (NCR) land from the federal government, the amount of which will be announced during the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting, which commences today.

Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said since there is no budget allocated for the NCR perimeter survey in Sarawak under the federal budget, which was tabled in Parliament last Friday, the Sarawak government would provide the necessary allocation.

“Sarawak will give. The Sarawak government will take over the perimeter survey of NCR land,” he said.

A total of RM30 million was allocated for Sarawak in Budget 2018, for mapping and surveying of NCR land.

Abang Johari, however, did not reveal the budget (amount) for the purpose, but it would be announced by his deputy Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah in the DUN sitting.

The Sarawak Budget 2019 is expected to be the biggest one ever presented.
