KUCHING: Kuching needs to learn from other cities around the world as it is a young city, said Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) Datuk Bandar Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Abang Julai.

According to him, at 30 years old, there is a lot Kuching can learn from other older cities which is why it is keen to befriend other cities.

“By making friends with other cities around the world, we will be able to learn about city planning and development. We need the knowledge as a lot is still needed to be done for Kuching,” he added when receiving a courtesy call from youths from China involved in Malaysia-China Youth Exchange and Fellowship programme at the DBKU building yesterday.

Abang Abdul Wahap introduced what Kuching city has to offer visitors and shared a little of the city’s background with about 40 delegates from China led by Li Hong, deputy director of Fujian Provincial Foreign Affairs Office.
