KUCHING: The registration of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has been approved.
In giving this confirmation, Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the Registrar of Societies (RoS) will be issuing an official letter in the next few days.
“Regarding the application to register GPS, it has already been approved and the letter will be issued by RoS in a day or two, Insya-Allah,” Muhyiddin said in his winding-up speech for Budget 2019 in the Dewan Rakyat today.
Muhyiddin was responding to a query by Kapit MP cum GPS secretary-general Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi’s query who wanted to know the registration status of the coalition.
The member parties in the coalition included Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP), Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) and Progressive Democratic Party (PDP).
Meanwhile, Alexander is expected to hold a press conference on this matter at GPS office around 5pm.
