KUCHING: Flash flood struck Kuching around 4.30pm yesterday.
The rain lasted only an hour but it caused flash flood at several areas including the compound of Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).
Reports from the State Disaster Management Committee said the affected areas were Padang Merdeka, Jalan Bentara Semariang, Kampung Sinar Budi and Kampung Tabuan Dayak here.
Fire and Rescue Department said there were cases of fallen trees at Desa Wira (Batu Kawah) and in Sungai Apong areas.
Personnel from power utility company Sesco were also called to Sungai Apong to clear trees and branches that fell onto electrical cables.
