KUCHING: Another case of rabies death was reported here involving a 21-year-old man.
The latest case brings the total rabies fatalities from 12 to 13 cases among humans in Sarawak since the declaration of rabies outbreak on June 30 last year.
The Health Ministry in a statement here yesterday said the man died of rabies encephalomyelitis Tuesday morning at Sarawak General Hospital.
Another case is still being treated at home for neurological complications.
As at Dec 4 this year, the Sarawak government had declared 54 areas in 11 divisions in Sarawak as rabies infected areas among animals. — Bernama
