MV Malaysia Brave docks at Bintulu Port on maiden voyage

BINTULU: MV Malaysia Brave, the Pure Car and Truck Carrier (PCTC) vessel under Harbour-Link Group Berhad, made a maiden voyage call at the Multi-Purpose Terminal of Bintulu Port on Wednesday (Dec 5).

The vessel, with an LOA (length overall) of 180m and carrying capacity of 43,810 gross tonnage, arrived at Bintulu from Port Kelang and berthed alongside the Multi-Purpose Terminal.

The maiden and inaugural call marked the launching of the regular service by Harbour-Link Group Berhad.

Currently the company operates two Malaysian-flagged PCTC Ñ MV Malaysia Brave, which has a carrying capacity of 3,800 sedan cars, and MV Malaysia Star with an LOA of 151.6m and carrying capacity of 16,839 gross tonnage capacity or 1,400 sedan cars.

In a statement, Bintulu Port said these two vessels provide regular domestic service in Malaysia and target two vessel calls per month.

The estimated volume for Bintulu is 300 to 400 units per sailing.

From this month, the vessel will additionally call in at Bintulu Port starting from first sailing as an alternative port for its customers in Sarawak.

The selection of Bintulu Port by Harbour-Link Group Berhad for this service signifies confidence in the port’s operational performance with efficient services and improved facilities delivery.
