SIBU: Sibu Gateway in Kampung Nyabor Road here has become an icon this Christmas.
Lighted up creatively by Kyuu Quality Visual Sdn Bhd, it has has become a popular spot for visitors and locals alike.
Muhammad Ishak, a 25-year-old working in Bintulu who was back in Sibu for a wedding said Sibu Gateway is a `must visit’ gateway to other tourist attractions in the town.
“There’s Sibu Central Market, reputed to be the largest in Malaysia as well as the Express Boat Terminal, the UTC and old Market Road where the Night Market is held,” he said.
Aiman Nur from Saratok who is currently in town, said a visit to the Gateway led him to many nearby attractions.
He mentioned the Rajang Esplanade, saying the river front is the perfect place for leisure.
“Here, I find the Swan Statue located by the mighty Rajang River amazing,” he enthused.
The 33-year-old said he also found food and drinks at the Central Market exceptionally inviting.
