Fireman injured in temple riot passes away

KUALA LUMPUR: Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim, the fireman who was seriously injured in the Seafield temple riot incident last month, has passed away at the National Heart Institute (IJN) at 9.41pm tonight.

His passing was confirmed by Minister of Housing and Local Government Zuraida Kamaruddin.

His body will be brought to the Jalan Hang Tuah Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Station for friends and loved ones to pay their final respects, before being brought back to his hometown in Kedah.

In the incident on Nov 27, the late Muhammad Adib, 24, was believed to have been seriously injured after he was beaten by rioters in front of the Sri Maha Mariamman temple at USJ 25, Subang Jaya. – Bernama
