MIRI: Members of Chung Hua Middle School’s ‘Class of 1980’ visited the Home for the Aged here last Sunday to distribute ‘angpow’ and mandarin oranges to residents and staff of the centre.

According to organising chairwoman Melinda Chan, the charity programme was part of their reunion activities slated for sharing the festive joy with the underprivileged members of the community.

“We had our first reunion dinner on Jan 5 with 110 classmates – some of whom came from as far as Canada and Australia.

“During the dinner, RM3,000 was collected and we decided to donate it to the elderly residents of the home to share the Chinese New Year cheer,” said Chan, adding that her former classmates greeted the elderly folk with songs and warm hugs.

“It was definitely a memorable reunion as we got to share our love with others,” she said.
