Call to promote GPS brand to ensure victory in next polls

KUCHING: A Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) veteran has called on Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) leaders to sell the GPS brand, now that its logo has been launched.

“The next step is for GPS to be massively promoted throughout Sarawak, among all
Sarawakians — rural and urban, young and old and of all political persuasions. GPS is, after all, meant for all Sarawkians, for the interest and good of Sarawak and its well-being and future.

“GPS must succeed and win in the coming state election (before or) in 2021. It’s really must,” Dato Peter Minos said.

He pointed out that objectives, agenda and aims of GPS must be very clear and be understood and accepted by all in Sarawak, and not just by members of component parties of GPS.

“We cannot imagine or accept it if GPS were to falter in the state election, and seeing Sarawak losing its powers over immigration, land, forestry, minerals and other assets to Pakatan Harapan (PH) and those from the peninsula. Now we have already lost our oil and gas wealth to Petronas.

“What more if PH and the peninsula people come in and control and dominate? Those Sarawakians who have been ‘turned’, let them be and serve their peninsula masters. I really hope they rethink and go the Sarawakian way, if they really care and love Sarawak,” he said.

In facing PH, he said it was best that Sarawakians set aside their differences for the sake of Sarawak.

He added that the people of Sarawak could face up to their external political foes if they are united and stand solidly together.

“The GPS government must also help to reduce and, if possible, remove all local problems and differences. Sarawakians, now and till 2021, must unite and make sure that Sarawak has hopes and a future through GPS. It is now or never,” he added.
