SIBU: A woman and three male teenagers claimed trial in the Sessions Court here yesterday to a charge of committing gang robbery.

Ruzana Abdullah, 34, Christopher Adam Alban, 19, Davis Ana, 18, and a 17-year-old were charged under Section 395 of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of up to 20 years and whipping upon conviction.

In addition, Ruzana also faces a charge under Section 109 of the Penal Code for abetting the gang robbery.

The three teens were each released on bail of RM1,600 with two local sureties.

The court, however, denied bail to Ruzana as she is the mother of one of the witnesses for the case.

All four accused are to appear in court again on Feb 12 for pre-trial case management.

They are accused of robbing a 74-year-old man of his gold necklace on Dec 24, 2018 between 8pm and 11.15pm at a store in Sentosa, Salim.

Ruzana was alleged to have abetted the teenagers to commit the offence.
