Civil servant among 67 nabbed over drugs in KK

KOTA KINABALU: A government servant was among 67 people detained by narcotics police for numerous drug offences around the state capital.

City police chief ACP Habibi Majinji said among those detained were 57 locals and 11 foreigners, aged between 20 and 50.

They were detained during numerous raids around the state capital between Jan 4 until Jan 12, he said.

Fifteen of the suspects were arrested for drug possession while 53 others for drug consumption.

“They will be remanded for investigation under Section 39A, Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” said Habibi in a statement yesterday.

Police also seized about 20.62 grams of syabu and 50.14 grams of ketamine valued at RM10,600 during the one week operation.

Habibi said to combat drug menace in the state capital, the police would continue such operations from time to time and urged the public to continue to provide information to the police.
