Police have cordoned off the area where the victim’s body was found.
KUCHING: The body of a man, believed to have been murdered, was found in an abandoned house at Jalan Dusun off Jalan Ong Tiang Swee today.
State CID chief SAC Denis Leong Soon Kuai said the victim was found by a member of the public at about 10am.
“The victim was believed to have died in the last two to three days and we are still investigating while awaiting the post-mortem results,” he said when met by reporters at the scene.
He added that police are also trying to identify the victim, but the process would take time as the body had started to decompose.
Denis said the body had been sent to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) mortuary and the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
