LIMBANG: A Bruneian and a local were arrested by police during a drug operation near Kampung Pahlawan on Tuesday.
District police chief Supt Mohd Bukhori Saffai said the operation took place around 6.25pm when a police team ambushed the pair following a tip-off.
“Upon realising the presence of police, both suspects threw away items in their possession in a bid to get rid of evidence.
“However, upon inspection of the area, we recovered a packet of Syabu as well as a sock containing two more packets of Syabu,” he said yesterday, adding the drugs had a value of RM250.
Mohd Bukhori added that the 42-year-old Bruneian did not possess any criminal record but the 43-year-old local from Kampung Tuna had past drug-related offences.
Both men, however, tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine.
The case is being investigated under sections 12(2) and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
