Four women among five survive 30-metre plunge into ravine

TAMBUNAN: Five people, including four women, sustained minor injuries when the Nissan Navara pick-up truck they were travelling plunged into a 30-metre ravine at Jalan Tambunan yesterday.

State Fire and Rescue Department public relations officer Superintendent Mohd Affendy Ramin sai, all those onboard the vehicle, age between 16 and 57, escaped with only minor injuries.

They were taken to the nearest hospital in EMRS vehicle and were reported to be in good health, said Affendy.

He said a distress call was made to the Tambunan Fire Station at 11.37am regarding the incident.

The victims managed to climb out of the vehicle before fire and rescue personnel arrived, and were given first aid before being taken to the hospital, said Affendy.
