SIBU: A 23-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run incident at Jalan Tanjung Manis around 7am yesterday.
Abdul Jamil Ismail from Jalan Kampong Nangka is believed to be on his way to Tanjung Manis when the accident occurred.
He is believed to have lost control of his bike and fell down before an oncoming car ran over him and crushed his head. His body was later transferred to Sibu Hospital.
District police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit confirmed that it was a hit-and-run incident and said it would be investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
