Second Borneo Diabetes Conference opens for registration

MIRI: The 2nd Borneo Diabetes Conference to be held at Pullman Miri Waterfront on July 5 to 7 is now open for registration.

Doctors, allied health professionals, medical students and international delegates are welcome to register for the conference, which will discuss issues relating to diabetes, treatment and challenges.

According to the conference’s scientific committee chairman, Dr Fam Tem Lom, those with medical background interested to attend the conference are encouraged to register before April 1, to enjoy early bird registration fee.

Doctors who are also members of Malaysian Medical Association (MMA), get to enjoy a cheaper registration fee of RM350 each compared to the standard fee of RM400 after April 1.

Doctors who are non-MMA members get to enjoy a cheaper registration fee of RM400. After April 1, the fee will be RM450.

Meanwhile, allied health professionals and medical students get to enjoy cheaper registration fee of RM280 compared to the standard fee of RM350 that will be imposed after April 1.

As for international delegates, the early bird registration fee is US$250 (US$300 after April 1).

Diabetic patients and their family members are also encouraged to participate in the conference.

The organising committee has also arranged a city tour for the delegates and participants in and around Miri as part of effort in promoting Miri.

The tour will go to places such as Taoist Temple, Miri City Fan, Miri Heritage Centre, Grand Old Lady, Miri Crocodile Farm, Niah Caves and Mulu Caves.
