Land and Survey Department halts illegal earth works

Heavy vehicles were seized during the operation to be used as evidence in the case.

KUCHING: The state Land and Survey Department Enforcement Unit had put a halt to transportation activities involving rock material at a site in Bintulu.

During the recent operation, a total of four heavy vehicles involved in the illegal activities were seized to be used as evidence in the case.

The activities were exposed following intelligence gathering and routine patrol. The case is being investigated under Section 32A of the State Land Code (Chapter 81).

Meanwhile the Land and Survey Department has reminded members of the public who wish to carry out activities related to transportation and dredging of earth material to approach the nearest Land and Survey Office beforehand for advice to avoid enforcement actions.
