KUCHING: Orphans from various welfare homes in this division were treated to a meal and presented with gifts during an event held at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here yesterday.

The event, jointly organised by Kuching Chefs Association (KCA) and BCCK, was participated by hundreds of orphans.

According to KCA president Abang Abdul Rahman, the event was one of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes held in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration.

“We would like to thank our sponsors for helping us out with this event, which we are happy doing in order to give back to the society,” he said.

Before the start of the event proper, the children and other guests witnessed a lion dance performance.
