Paramedics inspect the motorcyclist for signs of life.
KUCHING: A motorcycle crash near Kampung Mambong in Siburan claimed the life of a man yesterday.
The motorcyclist was identified as 32-year-old Alexis Danial of Kampung Seratau, along the Kuching-Serian road.
Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the incident happened around 7.30am when the victim was travelling alone towards the city from Mambong.
“Initial investigation pointed to his motorcycle going out of control before crashing into a ditch. No other vehicles were involved in the accident,” he said in a statement.
The body was later sent to Sarawak General Hospital for post-mortem, with police classifying the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Personnel from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) were present at the scene to recover the body from the ditch.
