KUCHING: The price of RON95 and RON97 petrol are up 10 sen per litre for the week starting Feb 23 to March 1.

The price of diesel will remain unchanged for the third week running at RM2.18 per litre.

RON95 will be priced at RM2.08 per litre while RON97 will be priced at RM2.38 per litre.

The weekly fuel price fluctuations were reintroduced as part of the new Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) on Jan 5.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the price increase for RON95 was caused by an average increase in the refined product in the global market.

The ministry previously stated that the price of RON95 would also be capped at RM2.20 per litre and diesel at RM2.18 per litre through subsidies to help consumers avoid high fuel prices.
