MARUDI: The authorities concerned and banking sector have been asked to open a bank branch at Long Lama bazaar.

Telang Usan District Officer Baru Tai said residents in the district need banking facilities at their doorstep.

“Long Lama will very soon be linked by the Long Lama bridge, which will be opened next April. This will improve facilities and economic activities. Because of that, banking services are very much needed,” he said during Bank Negara Malaysia’s financial services roadshow in Long Lama recently.

“This is in line with the government’s agenda to improve the standard of living of the people through the Highland Development Agency (HDA) under Recoda (Regional Corridor Development Authority).”

He also called on community leaders to cooperate and work together with Telang Usan folk and government agencies to realise these development plans.

Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau officiated at the roadshow.
