KUCHING: The soon-to-be constructed St Peter’s Parish new church in Padungan here is set to be a prominent landmark in the Kuching landscape when completed, says Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk James Chan.

Chan said this when receiving a courtesy visit by the parish rector Father Vincent Chin at the former’s office in MBKS building yesterday.

The new church design is based on Gothic architecture with stain glass windows and will have the capacity to house at least 1,500 worshippers at any one time.

The church and its compound will have a multipurpose hall, two-storey office, eight-storey hostel, two-storey columbarium, 300 parking spaces and a plaza.
