KUCHING: The Ministry of Welfare, Community Well Being, Women, Family and Childhood Development has come up with a standard operating procedure (SOP) for child adoption.

Its minister Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah said the SOP, which has all the important points regarding the procedure, is contained in a booklet to become a guideline with regard to child adoption.

“The ministry has come up with an SOP with regard to child adoption because we want it to be carried out properly and ensure that certificates are issued based on the right procedures,” she told reporters today.

She earlier chaired Sarawak Social Development Council at Wisma Kebajikan, Jln Sultan Tengah in Petra Jaya, here.

She said the SOP are written in a booklet, which would be distributed to all District offices across the state next week.
