Society announces photography contest winners

‘Reflection’ earned Sim the first place.

MIRI: Miri Photography Society (MPS) wrapped up its first contest of the year–Year of Boar Photography Contest by announcing the top three winners yesterday.

Aaron Sim Jun Chiek took home RM500 as champion in open category for his photograph ‘Reflection’. Leo Kipong  and Yong Suenn Horng won RM300 and RM200 as first and second runner up respectively.

MPS chairman Sylvester Wong said the photography contest organised in conjunction with Chinese New Year celebration was opened to all photography enthusiasts and members.

“Response was very encouraging with 35 contestants sending in a total of 122 entries. Some of the photos were very interesting as the theme of the contest involved the best faces of Miri,” said Sylvester.

He encouraged the participants to share their work of art on social media to introduce Miri to the world.

Yong’s photo of a lion dance was second-runner up.
