KUCHING: A senior citizen died while waiting for transportation to Serian Hospital after the ambulance he was travelling in was involved in an accident at a petrol station.

The incident occurred at a petrol station located at Mile 18 along the Jalan Kuching and Serian road here on Monday.

Sarawak Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department (JSPT) head Superintendent Alexson Naga Chabu said that the victim, Lai Kim, 66, was previously receiving treatment at Siburan Health Clinic and was later referred to Serian Hospital for further treatment at around 9.30am.
