BETONG: The alleged activities of the three terror suspects recently arrested in Serian were highly detrimental to state security.

Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg admitted that the security in the state had been “breached in a way”, and that the situation was being closely monitored.

“The arrest of three terror suspects in Serian town is a cause for concern but nonetheless I am grateful for the fast response of the police force,” he told a press conference here today.

Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fauzi had said the three suspects were arrested on Feb 2.

“What I want the people to do is to be more cautious and be prepared. We must be wary of foreigners suddenly opening up restaurants in your midst even if they are wearing the white Haji cap. It is a matter of perception,” Abang Johari said.

“We must congratulate the PDRM (Police) for their efforts and intelligence which had allowed them to identify, zero in and arrest those involved in such activities.”
