SIBU: Former members of United People’s Party (UPP) are
not required to apply for membership in the new Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) as their membership is automatically registered.

PSB Bawang Assan Bumiputra Unit head Andrew Shilling
who stated this yesterday, said PSB was recruiting membership but not those from UPP as they are automatically PSB members.

He said this during a meeting with PSB Bumiputra members in Bawang Assan at their office here yesterday. PSB Dudong Bumiputra Unit head Bansa Sandah was also present.

UPP has been renamed PSB and was approved by the Registrar of Societies (ROS) on Feb 22.

Andrew said the party is open to all Sarawakians irrespective of race and religion who want to work and fight for the rights of all Sarawakians.

At the meeting, he urged party members to be active in recruiting members to strengthen the party.

He also spoke against criticising people or political parties on social media.

“But, do make good use of the social media to explain the ideology and the direction of our party,” he added.
