KUCHING: Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohd Morshidi Abdul Ghani is still unsure if there will be a title change for his portfolio after the Sarawak government’s decision to drop the word ‘state’ from official use.

When contacted for comment, he said he needed time to figure out who issued a statement on the subject matter.

“I need to check to see who issued the statement,” said Morshidi, whose portfolio is known as State Secretary of Sarawak.

It is unertain if the portfolio’s name ought to be Secretary of Sarawak now since the Chief Minister has been quoted in a national Chinese daily as saying that Sarawak will no longer use the word ‘state’.

Morshidi added that he would have to crosscheck with UKAS (Sarawak Public Communications Unit) before making further comments on the issue.
