MIRI: SMK Marudi has received three projectors from alumnus Dr Roland Dom Mattu.

He donated the projectors for the school’s Form 6 classes.

Form 6 physics teacher John Liew received the projectors from Dr Roland and his wife Sheryl Joy Mattu.

Liew was accompanied by star physics student Moh Ling Zheng – the sole representative from East Malaysia for the upcoming national-level International Physics Olympiad 2019.

Recently, Dr Roland also conducted a motivational talk, ‘Life Choices Your Choice’, for SMK Marudi’s Form 6 students.

He shared his experience as part of the pioneer batch of students of the school, which was known as Marudi Government Secondary School, in 1963.

Urging the Upper 6 students from the Orang Ulu community to focus on entering university, he said they should prepare themselves to be involved in the development of Baram.

“You must prepare yourself to be relevant in 20 years’ time when there will be changes,” he said.
