KUCHING: The federal allocation for Puncak Borneo parliamentary constituency will be distributed fairly among the three state constituencies under it, says its MP Willie Mongin.

He said this year’s allocation for Puncak Borneo was divided into two categories; an outright grant (OG) and ‘projek mesra rakyat’ (PMR), which is for physical development.

He thanked the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government for its concern for the people of Puncak Borneo, and for the increase in allocation this year.

“Each MP was allocated only RM500,000 last year, but this year the PH government has increased the allocation to RM4 million for Puncak Borneo.

“We are trying our best to distribute this allocation fairly among all the state constituencies in Puncak Borneo namely Serembu, Mambong and Tarat,” he said at the handing-over of the OG at his service centre in Bratan, Jalan Puncak Borneo near here yesterday.

Forty-six organisations received the first batch of the OG, totaling RM527,988.

Willie said RM2 million would be allocated for the OG while the remaining RM2 million for PMR.

He said this year’s allocation would be fairly distributed among those organisations and areas that did not have their share from last year’s pie.

He also reminded the people to be patient while waiting for their turn as the OG and PMR would be given on first-come-first- served basis.
