JOHOR BAHRU: The Ministry of Education (MOE) is attempting to obtain the Certificate of Practical Completion (CPC) for 552 schools nationwide by the end of the year.

Its Deputy Minister Teo Nie Ching said efforts would be made to ensure no schools in the country are without CPC, to enable schools to provide a safe and conducive environment for students.

“We view this issue seriously and there are plans to complete the exercise by the end of the year.

“The estimated cost (to complete) for one school is about RM300,000,” she told reporters after visiting the new premises of Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) Ladang Tebrau, here yesterday.

She said schools would have problems making insurance claims in any untoward incidents if they do not have CPC. — Bernama
