Imago’s Hope Express fourth donation since 2016

Imago celebrated Hope Express 4th Donation at The Oval. The donation amounting to RM42,442.95 was presented to Ms. Maria Fung, Head of Strategic Operations Department & Reforestation Lead from WWF Malaysia by Acting Marketing Manager, Mr. Rustam Ahmad. Rumah Kanak-Kanak Bondulu Toboh was named as the charity organization to receive donations from Hope Express for the period of January 2019 – June 2019.

KOTA KINABALU: The handover of public donations through  ‘Hope Express’ took place at The Oval, Imago Shopping Mall, on Saturday night at 8pm.

WWF-Malaysia being the receiver for donations collected since the beginning of July 2018 until the end of 2018, received 100% of the collected donations to fund its mission.

The donation, amounting to RM42, 442.95, was presented by  Rustam Ahmad, acting marketing manager of Imago Shopping Mall to Ms. Maria Fung, head of Strategic Operations Department & Reforestation Lead from WWF-Malaysia, and witnessed by the public during Hope Express fourth donation ceremony.

Rustam, delivering a speech from Dr Raymond Yu Tat Loong, executive director Asian Pac Holdings Berhad, expressed his gratitude to the public for their continuous support on Hope Express and Imago Shopping Mall since their opening. The Hope Express ceremony was rejoiced with activities in conjunction with Imago’s fourth anniversary with its theme-inspired decoration, Transcendence.

Rumah Kanak-Kanak Bondulu Toboh was named as the next charity organization to receive donations from Hope Express for the period from January 2019 to June 2019.

The charity organization, built in 1993 in Tambunan, houses underprivileged children, with the majority of them being orphans.

Sister Germaine M. Angkanon, the home caretaker, hopes that with Hope Express’ donations, it will help in its day-to-day operations in managing Rumah Kanak-Kanak Bondulu.

Since the operation of Hope Express train ride, Imago Shopping Mall has accumulated nearly RM300,000 from the public where donations are 100% given to various non-profit organizations with different backgrounds. Hope Express is a charity campaign initiated by Imago Shopping Mall in 2016 with an undertaking to raise awareness about non-profit organizations and charity homes that need help.

Located on the second floor of Imago Shopping Mall, visitors can take the train ride for free by simply donating according to their ability.

To date, four non-profit organizations have benefited from this platform, including Taman Didikan Kanak-Kanak Kurang Upaya, Seri Mengasih Centre, Cheshire Home and the latest WWF-Malaysia.
