MIRI: The third edition of Miss Grand Malaysia to be held here from April 21 to 28 will witness 24 finalists vying for the coveted title and the chance to represent Malaysia at the annual Miss Grand International pageant slated to be held in Venezuela this October.
Miss Grand Malaysia national director Jude Benjamin Lisa said for the first time, Miss Grand Malaysia will be held out of Klang Valley and the ideal city to host it is Miri due to its big fan base in East Malaysia, allowing lovers of the national pageant the great opportunity to be part of this glittery affair.
He emphasised the 2019 national pageant is also to support the tourism initiative by the Ministry of Arts, Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports Sarawak and Sarawak Tourism Board for 2019 with ‘Sarawak More to Discover’.
Debra Jeanne Poh, the reigning Miss Grand Malaysia 2018 from Labuan, will be crowning her successor at the final coronation of Miss Grand Malaysia 2019 on April 28.
“The 24 finalists will be treated to an exciting week of activities highlighting the attractions in Miri, including Niah National Park, Tusan Beach, Piasau Nature Reserve, Crocodile Farm Miri and Miri Times Square to name a few.
“The final coronation will see the reigning Miss Grand International 2018 winner from Paraguay, Clara Sosa, and Miss Grand Malaysia 2018 Debra Jeanne Poh crowning the new Miss Grand Malaysia with Minister of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah as the guest of honour,” Jude told The Borneo Post when contacted yesterday.
Hosted by Dan Ling and Shannen Totten, the final coronation will see entertainments by talents from Borneo Jazz Festival, the official festival partner for Miss Grand Malaysia 2019.
Miss Grand Malaysia 2019 national pageant is presented by Nur Sajat Aesthetics and offers a total of RM200,000 in cash and prizes to the top three winners, and subsidiary titles including Miss Social Media, Best in Evening Gown, Best in Swimwear and Miss Popular Vote.
Nur Sajat from Nur Sajat Aesthetics is the presenter of Miss Grand Malaysia 2019 national pageant to be held from April 21 to 28 in Miri.

The 24 finalists will be wearing various fashion wardrobe apparels from Maatin Shakir, Indu Borneo, Bikini Malaysia and BorneoNative.

The top finalist will advance automatically to the Top 12.
