MIRI: Organisations in the Baram parliamentary constituency received RM156,000 in minor rural project (MRP) grants yesterday.

Baram member of parliament Anyi Ngau presented the grants to associations, religious bodies, village security and development committees (JKKKs), and parent-teacher associations.

In his speech, he called on constituents to continue supporting the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government for progressive development.

“Rest assured, our Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg has promised to help everyone – be they in the city or rural areas,” he said.

Anyi also thanked the Sarawak government and Abang Johari for allocating RM2 million in MRP funds to GPS elected representatives annually for the betterment of their constituencies.

“We will continue to give away MRP grants according to the needs and requests from the people in Baram, who ought to wisely and fully utilise the funds for the benefit of the people,” he added.
