Pupils welcome donations of e-waste and old clothes for recycling.

KUCHING: SJK Chung Hua No 5 will give the public the chance to minimise the electronic waste (e-waste) that goes into landfills with its recycling programme next Saturday (April 27).

The community service programme, which is organised by the school’s Malaysia Red Crescent unit, will run from 9am until noon.

Besides aiming to minimise the e-waste that goes into landfills, the collection programme also offers the public a safe and secure way to dispose of out-of-date IT assets and e-waste.

Members of the public can bring along their old and obsolete computer parts, electronic accessories, televisions, refrigerators, and other electrical appliances for recycling.

Donations of old clothes are also welcomed.

The school called on the public to give their fullest support to the event to help achieve its objective of keeping the environment clean.
