KUCHING: World-renowned chef Martin Yan is expected at two cooking demonstrations to be held in the city on May 15 and 16.
Yan will be at Aeroville Mall here to showcase his expertise at 10.30am on May 15 and at Ta Kiong Supermarket in tHe Spring Shopping Mall from 7.30pm the next day.
Held in conjunction with Malaysia Koo Soo Restaurants and Chefs Association’s 39th annual general meeting (AGM) from May 13 to 16 and the 2nd Asia Pacific Food Culture Conference and International Culinary Art Demonstration, the event is organised by Kuching Koo Soo Chefs Association with the support of Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports.
Malaysia Koo Soo Restaurants and Chefs Association will donate to two charitable bodies including Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society as part of the association’s social responsibility.
Among special guests invited to the AGM are Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Chong Chieng Jen, Minister of International Trade and E-Commerce Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh and China’s Consul-General in Kuching Cheng Guangzhong.
Associations related to chefs and restaurants across Malaysia will join their counterparts from China, Singapore, Japan, the United States, the Netherlands and Taipei at the forthcoming event.
