KUCHING: Muara Tuang State assemblyman Dato Idris Buang stood up for Petra Jaya MP Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof today, saying he found nothing seditious in the speech made by the latter at a MA63 (Malaysia Agreement 1963) seminar recently.

He said he had seen and analysed the video on Fadillah’s speech, and there was nothing wrong with it from a law perspective.

“From the angle of the law, there is nothing wrong in his speech, nothing seditious.

“What has been said by Fadillah was subject to the enclosed defense principle within the sphere of the defence of fair comment and reasonableness,” he said.

“In this context, Fadillah was only asking the delegates to imagine ‘If, which brings the interpretation, if Pakatan Harapan (PH) is the government and in control of the State Legislative Assembly, PH is in power and can do a lot of things including to amend this and that.

“Its up to the delegates or whoever who is in the right frame of mind to freely analyse the judicious hypothesis in this context,” he said.

Idris said, looking at the speech made by Fadillah, the statement was a fair and reasonable comment based on strong facts.

“Look at what PH is doing, lodging reports without studying and analysing the facts, and in a hurry to lodge police reports. Making police reports are only a waste of time,” he said.
