KUCHING: Reformists 98 Sarawak chairman Iswardy Morni and other members lodged a police report against Petra Jaya MP Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof today.

The report was made at the One Stop Centre police station at Simpang Tiga here this morning.

Iswardy said they were lodging a police report regarding Fadillah’s alleged statement which he made during a MA63 (Malaysia Agreement 1963) Seminar here recently.

The statement was also published in a local daily and online portals.

“In his statement, quoted in several newspapers and online portals, he said something like this: ‘Bayang
kan mun sidak (PH) dapat menguasai Dewan Undangan Negeri, apa yang pertama kali dihapuskan ialah kuasa imigresen, dak nya bebas keluar masuk, akan dihapuskan juga OMO,’ (Imagine if they (PH) can control the State Legislative Assembly, first thing that they will do is to abolish the Immigration Law, then they are free to come in and out, and they will also abolish OMO).”

“That particular statement is very dangerous because Fadillah refers to or is insinuating something to this effect, that ‘if something happens’, the Pakatan Harapan government will take over DUN, then there will be unrest and Sarawak’s rights will be eroded.

“What we are saying is that we are free to engage or to have our political beliefs, and we are free to talk about our rights enshrined in the MA63 or any other matter, but by saying something like this, it’s a breach of peace which Fadillah as a lawyer should understand,” said Iswardy.

“We debated with facts but inciting something like this, we in Sarawak should avoid all these, like what is happening in Semenanjung with UMNO and PAS.”

Meanwhile, Iswardy said that other group will also make similar reports in separate places.
